Perhaps men are more likely to take risks (which, I vaguely remember, are supported by some studies comparing female and male business leaders after the crash of the economy in 2008) and less likely to invest in long-term return, of which education is a form? It is still a problem in the USA, but oddly enough because more women are going to higher education then men (don’t know why); there are simply more qualified women- so necessity requires hiring more women. I must say I do not know why women are completing college more then men in America; this is a strange phenomena. Moreover, I do not know what these American men are actually doing as low wage jobs are largely disappearing. This will likely play out in some strange ways in America, but at least we have lots of women getting higher degrees.
